Welcome to Creel Creek After Dark.

Athena: I’m your host, Athena Hunter.

Ivana: And I’m Ivana Steak. We’re back for another special episode.

Athena: All of our episodes are special, Ivana.

Ivana: While that’s true, they aren’t usually recorded live on location—if you know what I mean.

Athena: I think I do. There was only that one, a couple of months back. So, you’re right. Tonight’s episode is special. It was recorded mere hours ago as the two of us encountered a group of what we believe to be witches. And what were they doing? They were gathering at midnight in a freaking graveyard!

Athena: Without further ado, let’s get to the show.

Microphone crackling.

Ivana: This is Ivana Steak. And we’re whispering again. You know what that means.

Athena: It means we’re tracking something down. But not Bigfoot.

Ivana: Sasquatch.

Athena: Whatever. It’s not the big guy. It’s actually several smaller citizens of the local community. We caught them on our trail camera moving toward the graveyard on the outskirts of town. This is the same graveyard we mentioned in episode thirteen about the mine explosion. Ivana, this could be where your ghost hangs out at night.

Ivana: No. He hangs out at Creel Creek Mountain Lodge.

Athena: Oh, right. Well, anyway—we’re following the trail of these women who came out here just before midnight tonight.

Ivana: Kind of an odd time to have a picnic, don’t you think?

Athena: Yeah, and I don’t think this is a Junior League meeting either.

Ivana: What do you think they’re up to, Athena?

Athena: Well, the last time we were up this way, we’d heard mention of the word magic—no matter what the Hound says. So, I believe these women are what we might call witches. Now, let’s go get a better look.

Ivana: Okay. We’re about to reach the clearing and try to get a better look at what they’re up to. We’ll be out in the open for a bit.

Athena: Why didn’t we put the camera on that tree?

Ivana: The one in the graveyard?

Athena: Obviously.

Ivana: Well… I guess because we didn’t think of it?

Athena: Curse our past selves.

Ivana: Don’t talk about curses. You never know what these witches are capable of if they spot us…

Athena: I’m afraid if we talk too much, they’ll hear us.

Ivana: Me too. But we made it to the gate of the graveyard. So far, I don’t see any hint of magic.

Athena: But what I do see is odd. They’re taking turns putting one hand on the oak tree.

Ivana: Maybe it’s an initiation ceremony?

Athena: It’s definitely some sort of ritual. Come on, let’s get a closer look.
